Its been almost 25 yers since the first Playsta­tion launched. A lot of things have changed over the last two and half decades, but the demand for clas­sic games is ris­ing. To match both Nintendo’s and Sega’s offer­ings, Sony is throw­ing its hat in the clas­sic gam­ing mar­ket with the Playsta­tion Clas­sic.

The Playsta­tion Clas­sic mir­rors the design of the orig­i­nal Playsta­tion but is 45% small­er and comes pre-loaded with 20 “clas­sic titles” includ­ing Final Fan­ta­sy VIIJump­ing FlashRidge Rac­er Type 4Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.

The Playsta­tion Clas­sic will cost you $99.99 USD and will be avail­able on Decem­ber 3rd 2018, the 25th year anniver­sary of he orig­i­nal Playsta­tion con­sole. Pre-orders are avail­able from “select retail­ers” but no retail­ers were list­ed as of the time of this writ­ing.

The Playsta­tion Clas­sic comes with an HDMI cable, 2 con­trollers for game that sup­port local mul­ti­play­er and a USB cable to pow­er the device. An AC adapter will be avail­able sep­a­rate­ly for an extra cost.
