Early yesterday, Epic Games told Fortnite players there would be expected downtime for an upcoming update. It has been delayed until the 4 a.m. tommorrow, February 14th.

It appears the Fortnite servers went a little wacky last night and early this morning. Epic tweeted they released a hotfix to resolve an accuracy issue with X‑Stormwings on PS4.

They also mentioned another issue with merging a PS4 account into a primary account from logging in on a PS4 and stated they’re “working on a fix.”

This is most likely what pushed them to delay the upcoming update altogether. However, Epic said it was a “last minute issue” they discovered within the v.7.40 update.

Hilariously enough, around four this morning, Fortnite’s servers went down for “maintenance.” It was, apparently, an unplanned downtime and wasn’t related to the v7.40 update, even though it was set to launch at that time.
