Today developer Dontnod has confirmed that they are working on a new Life is Strange game.

The announcement comes via a post on the Life is Strange blog and a video on their official YouTube channel. In the video Dontnod states that they cannot reveal any details, but they have been working on a new Life is Strange game since last year. They have also confirmed that this new game will not be at E3 this year.

While there is no information on this sequel, Dontnod has stated in the past what they would do if given the chance to create a sequel. In an interview with Polygon, co-game director Michel Koch said “We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game” and compared the idea to American Horror Story and True Detective. Dontnod will likely keep the episodic format as Koch believes that its “a strong way to create a strong story” allowing greater control of the pace and provides an opportunity for discussion between fans.

Dontnod next game will be an action RPG called Vampyr. Whatever new Life is Strange game currently being developed likely won’t come out until after Vampyr.
