Ubisoft revealed today that are indeed releasing a second title of The Division. It will be lead by Massive Entertainment, with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest in collaboration.
The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the SnowDrop engine. The dev team stated this engine “enables us to realize our ambitions for the sequel, but more importantly, we’re also taking everything we learned over the past two years and applying it towards the sequel to make sure we get it right.”
Ubisoft also let current fans of The Division know they will still be supporting the original title, including Xbox One X support coming in April. Although The Division was not completely praised by critics, fans of the game have continued to show support and the development team did listen to feedback.
Although details on the sequel are sparse, it appears The Division 2 will show up at Ubisoft’s E3 conference in June.
