Last year was a crazy ride for the UK game sales chart, with so many triple A titles duk­ing it out over the top spot. 2018 is over and FIFA 19 is kick­ing off the new year by plac­ing first for this week.

It’s sur­pris­ing that FIFA 19 man­aged to make its way back to num­ber one. Espe­cial­ly when you con­sid­er all the amaz­ing titles released at the end of last year and the hol­i­day sea­son caus­ing an influx of game pur­chas­es.

Red Dead Redemp­tion 2 was at the top before Christ­mas break, but has now been knocked down to sec­ond. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is cur­rent­ly hold­ing third, while Super Mario Smash Bros. Ulti­mate dropped a spot to fourth. Bat­tle­field V also fell down a place from Decem­ber, hold­ing fifth.
