Today, Ubisoft revealed its year one con­tent plans for The Divi­sion 2. In the months after launch, play­ers can expect reg­u­lar updates to the game. This includes new free mis­sions, chal­lenges, spe­cial­iza­tions, rewards and more.

Most of this con­tent will be free for every­one. How­ev­er, if you own the Year 1 Pass you’ll have ear­ly access to all the con­tent, plus a few extras for incen­tive. The pass comes with the Gold and Dig­i­tal Ulti­mate Edi­tions, or can be pur­chased sep­a­rate­ly.

Ubisoft Outlined The Division 2’s Year One Content

Ubisoft gave a brief run­down of what to expect for the first con­tent kick­off and what fol­lows after:

  • First is the addi­tion of Tidal Basin, a chal­leng­ing fac­tion strong­hold
  • Then the first eight-play­er raid: Oper­a­tion Dark Hours rolls out
  • This sum­mer major free con­tent updates called “Episodes” will become avail­able

The first Episode title “D.C. Out­skirts: Expe­di­tions”, will take you out­side the city cen­ter on two new main mis­sions. It also intro­duces you to a new game mode in which you dis­cov­er what hap­pened to a lost con­voy.

Episode 2, Pen­ta­gon: The Last Cas­tle, tasks you with infil­trat­ing the icon­ic Pen­ta­gon and uncov­er­ing secrets. In the win­ter of 2019, Episode 3 will end the first chap­ter for The Divi­sion 2, mak­ing way for Year 2 con­tent.

If you own the Year 1 Pass, you’ll have a week of ear­ly access to all the Year 1 Episodes. You’ll also have ear­ly access to eight clas­si­fied assign­ments, as well as exclu­sive cos­met­ic items and addi­tion­al in-game activ­i­ties. Final­ly, the Pass grants instant access to the new Year 1 spe­cial­iza­tions as they release.

The Divi­sion 2 launch­es on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on March 15th, 2019. Play­ers who pur­chase the Gold or Dig­i­tal Ulti­mate Edi­tions can get the game ear­ly on March 12th.
