Today, Ubisoft revealed its year one content plans for The Division 2. In the months after launch, players can expect regular updates to the game. This includes new free missions, challenges, specializations, rewards and more.
Most of this content will be free for everyone. However, if you own the Year 1 Pass you’ll have early access to all the content, plus a few extras for incentive. The pass comes with the Gold and Digital Ultimate Editions, or can be purchased separately.
Ubisoft gave a brief rundown of what to expect for the first content kickoff and what follows after:
- First is the addition of Tidal Basin, a challenging faction stronghold
- Then the first eight-player raid: Operation Dark Hours rolls out
- This summer major free content updates called “Episodes” will become available
The first Episode title “D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions”, will take you outside the city center on two new main missions. It also introduces you to a new game mode in which you discover what happened to a lost convoy.
Episode 2, Pentagon: The Last Castle, tasks you with infiltrating the iconic Pentagon and uncovering secrets. In the winter of 2019, Episode 3 will end the first chapter for The Division 2, making way for Year 2 content.
If you own the Year 1 Pass, you’ll have a week of early access to all the Year 1 Episodes. You’ll also have early access to eight classified assignments, as well as exclusive cosmetic items and additional in-game activities. Finally, the Pass grants instant access to the new Year 1 specializations as they release.
The Division 2 launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on March 15th, 2019. Players who purchase the Gold or Digital Ultimate Editions can get the game early on March 12th.
