DOOM Eternal made another appearance at Bethesda’s E3 conference this year, with several trailers and a release date in tow. DOOM Eternal is set to launch on November 22nd, 2019. A pre-order bonus and collector’s edition were also revealed.
As you can see, the Slayer is back and more aggressive than ever. Alongside the story trailer, was a video reveal for a new multiplayer mode called BATTLEMODE.
In this new mode, one player takes on the role of the Slayer while two other join in as demons. The Slayer has a fully equipped arsenal, ready for a fight to death, in this best-of-five mode.
Each demon class in BATTLEMODE has unique movement options (like a jet pack), attacks and abilities. Both demon players can spawn in AI controlled demon reinforcements, either to overwhelm or outmaneuver the Slayer.
The developers behind DOOM Eternal, id Software, will speak more about BATTLEMODE next month during QuakeCon 2019.
