Blizzard has finally announced Orisa as a new character after weeks of teases.

Orisa will be the 6th tank in Overwatch. Her primary attack is an automatic gun that slows her while firing. The alternate attack is a graviton charge that slows nearby enemies and pulls them in. Her first ability forties her defense and the second ability is a shield that can interrupt projectiles and protect allies. Orisa’s ultimate applies a damage buff to allies within range.

Here is Blizzard’s official description of her back story:

Specially outfitted for maximum fortification, Orisa is a four-legged robot designed by a brilliant 11-year-old engineer named Efi Oladele to keep the peace in Numbani.

Built from the scraps of the city’s decommissioned OR15 defense bots, Orisa is still learning how to optimally perform her function. What she lacks in experience, she makes up for in her steadfast dedication to keeping her city—and her creator—safe from harm.”

Public Test Region has been updated and now includes Orisa as a playable character. Other additions include Bastion taking 20% less damage while in Configuration instead of 35% and Zarya’s particle barrier no longer protects against knockback. A Develop Update video has been released that describes Orisa’s place in the game and explains the thoughts behind her moveset.
