Ubisoft announced yesterday their winter-sport game Steep, would be receiving some free DLC on February 1oth.

The DLC is titled “Alaska” and will feature new maps and events. Yesterday also brought Update 1.04, which brought improvements and additions to Steep. Based on the communities feedback, the devs made tweaks to jumping accuracy, scaled back the destructiveness of G‑force impacts, improved the Mountain View display, and what they described as “much more”.

The biggest change made was the Steep World Tour Tournament. This is a monthly competition series begining yesterday in an event called Backcountry. It starts on a race in the cursed mountain, with the qualifier challenging players to score 5,ooo points to stay in competition. Finals for this tour begin in February. Below is a very long picture that better describes this tour. It also has a goat:

Developers will also pick out some of the most outstanding player-created challenges and make them widely available as new Community Challenges, which push players to rack up high scores and compete to become a challenge’s leader. Community Challenges will also feature appearances by the developers themselves, giving players a chance to beat Steep’s creators.
